About Ermioni

A beautiful seaside town with intense island style, Ermioni is located on the eastern side of Peloponnese, just 2 hours from Athens by hydrofoil. The small houses, the narrow streets, the beautiful waterfront lined by cafeterias and fish taverns and the lush greenery make Ermioni the most relaxing destination for summer holidays. There are many beaches around Ermioni that suit all tastes, pebbled or sandy, cosmopolitan or secluded.

In Ermioni, you can visit the Folklore Museum of the town and the several monasteries in the region. The Folklore Museum and residence of Theodoros Kolokotronis, hero of the Greek independence revolution. Home of the 3rd Constitutional Assembly in 1827. In the garden in front of the house you can find the statues of Mitsa brothers who together with other inhabitants of Ermioni fought in the Greek independence revolution of 1821. Also you can visit the Monastery of Agioi Anargyroi, which was founded between the 11th and 12th centuries and the Metropolitan church of Taxiarches was built in the 17th century on the spot where the ancient temple of Xthonia Demetra used to be. The ancient streets are visible in the precinct.

• On the day of the Epiphany, there is the unique custom of Water Sanctification called "Yalla-Yalla".
• In the evening of Easter Sunday, the "Burning of Judas" is being celebrated for many decades.
• In the middle of summer, the awarded Music Association of Ermioni organizes the International Festival of Ermioni with participations of greek and foreign musical associations.
• If you like scuba diving, there is a Diving Centre in Ermioni.
